Training for billing insurance companies and Procentive features available.
I'm looking for recommendations on training opportunities that be an in-person, seminar, classroom or even one-on-one type training on how to bill insurance companies. We have a new employee that will be billing and has no experience with Procentive. The gal who set it up is no longer with us.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. We are aware Knowledge Hub, webinars on line, etc.
Thanks - Kathy

I would be interested in training. I have billed through Procentive for about 8 years. If interested, please email me at lcarruthers@greaterminnesota.org
We did a good training called "Coding and Billing for Mental Health Services" through Cross Country Education. I know they have the same training for both a webinar and in person. It isn't specific to Procentive though, just general guidelines for billing.
When I was new to billing/procentive, I looked at a lot of things on the Knowledge hub. I also did some trainings on http://customersuccess.procentive.com/set-up-and-training/ and Google'd "Procentive Training" to see videos. I also utilized this community resource frequently.
It took me about a good 6 months to a year to learn the things I need to do my job. This includes what works and doesn't work when billing different payers.
Hope this helps!
Correction: I used this address for more of a billing based training for Procentive.
I was in the position 3 years ago. Use the training module on Procentive. I self taught and had little help from anyone with Procentive Billing experience. There are several videos and print outs, also. Later, we paid a Procentive trainer for 8 hours of 1:1 training for myself and a couple other employees to ensure that we weren't missing anything. There are so many different ways to do things in Procentive, it is good to walk through and find out which work best for what you are doing.
The billing is actually quite simple. The payments and ERA are more difficult.
Another thought:
Is there a User Group (Aspire or Procentive) that meets every so often we could join to share knowledge between each other?
Good Morning Kathy!
This is a wonderful idea - were you thinking this would be something where users would meet in person or online (like a Zoom Meeting)?
I would love to try and make this happen.
Thank you!
Ashley, that would be awesome!
To answer your question, I'd suggest a quarterly in-person mtg to discuss issues, some of which might lead into a Zoom meeting after. Not sure what others prefer, but it appears there is interest.
Side note: ticket 2231567 is related (forwarded to Alicia).
There was an Aspire MN group that met once, but I haven't heard anything else regarding that group. It was very informative, and quite nice to have confirmation that other agencies were having some of the same issues - and brainstorming as to what worked and didn't work with specific payers.
I know there used to be a group back in the 'old' days (HA!) but I haven't heard of anything the last few years. I would love to be connected Kathy, Ashley, Sarah . . . great idea!! Quarterly meetings?
When I first started 4.5 years ago, I did some phone training with Margie (I think that is her name) who I believe at the time was the manager of Procentive's Bill Care. We worked through payments and ERA's and it was very helpful. Knowledge Hub is a great resource as well as this user community.
Hey Ladies!
It looks like there is quite a distance between agencies - maybe there could be a Zoom Meeting once a quarter and an in-person meeting once or twice a year. That way everyone can join if they want!
I will discuss this with our team this week. :) Thanks again for the idea!
That sounds good. Out of curiosity what is the distance between the majority of your users?
Procentive offices are located in Hudson and the majority of our customers are located in the Midwest, but we also serve customers across the nation.
We would also be interested in regular in-person and Zoom meetings! Our main office is located in Rochester, MN
Ashley, I so much appreciate your help. Another thought is if we did this qtrly, those that are unable to attend in person could communicate via Zoom(?). Personally, I really like the in-person discussions. Maybe start out qtrly and if attendance dwindles go to once or twice a year and only do zooms? Just my thoughts...
I would also love to be included!!
Thanks!
