Credit Card on File

Question: Does anyone require their clients to store a credit on file, at your office, in case they get behind on their balance? If, so do you automatically run it for the agreed amount? Is this ethically ok to do?

We have them in the "Vault" and the client has agreed to have us charge them after the visit.
I believe that is the purpose of the vault but you have to agree on the amounts charged.
Hi Mark, Thank you for your reply. Do you have a particular form that you have them sign for this agreement? If so, would you mind sharing it with me?
Do you approach the subject once they have a balance due of over 30 days? or do you set this up at the time of Intake?
We ask when they want us to charge and then put a note on file so we know when the visit is done.
You can also create a client group for clients with a card on file and then create a workflow to alert you when an appointment is attended.
